Bij de VFR800 zat die laatste nog hoog onder de buddyseat, bij de Crossrunner mondt de vier-in-twee-in-een uitlaat uit in een lage, zijdelings gemonteerde einddemper. Daardoor kon de hele zadelpartij lager geplaatst worden, zelfs in combinatie met de comfortverhogende langere veerwegen en de met 15 mm toegenomen grondspeling van de Crossrunner.
